Congrats to Our Winterguard Groups for Their Performances at the NC Premiere!

Congratulations to both the middle school and the high school winterguards for a fantastic showing at the NC Premiere competition on Feb. 4th. The Cadets placed first in their division! The Concord Winterguard was promoted into the highest level for school groups - Scholastic A - and placed 6th!

(Don't know much about winterguard? Check out this link to learn more!)

The next competition is The Concord Classic, which is held AT CONCORD HIGH SCHOOL on Saturday, February 25th! It is an honor to be chosen as a show host, and ALL winterguard parents are needed to help the show run smoothly! Signup HERE to Volunteer!

4th Winterguard FairShare Payment is Due March 6th. ($125 for HS, $100 for MS))

FairShare payments MUST be made ON-TIME so that the band fund can cover the cost of instruction, props, equipment, flags, and all other things needed for our group to be successful.

FairShares can be paid via Paypal with debit/credit card in CHARMS, or through the band dropbox.

The Concord Classic is Saturday, February 25th. Volunteers are Needed Now!

We expect a record-breaking number of participating groups at this year's Concord Classic! We will need LOTS of volunteers from our extended band family (students, parents, alumni, etc.) to help make this a successful event!. The Concord Classic is a very important fundraiser that benefits the ENTIRE Concord band program & Band Boosters, not only the Winterguard.

Contact the 2012 Concord Classic Coordinator, Tracy Rhodes if you are able to volunteer.

2011 CWEA Championships Wrap-up

Congratulations to the Concord Winterguard for their Third Place finish in the Silver Division and Sixth Place overall in Scholastic AA Class at the 2011 CWEA Championships!! The group worked VERY hard this season, through all the blood, sweat, and tears, to medal several times and receive 2 promotions after already starting one class higher than last season!

The Concord Cadets alsohad great successes and improved progressively throughout their season, leading to a First Place finish in the Cadet Class at Championships!

Ladies (& "Boy") your accomplishments were phenomenal. You were a joy to watch in performances. And, we are extremely proud of all of you!!

Professionally-taken photos of the units and their championship performances can be viewed and ordered through the Jolesh Photography website:

Concord Winterguard Takes 1st Place at the 2011 WGI Regional in Raleigh

The Concord Winterguard participated in their first WGI Regional in over 3 years and were crowned Scholastic Regional A Co-Champions, landing in a tie with JM Robinson HS! Both groups were invited to perform in exhibition a 2nd time later in the day and gave wonderful performances. This is another big milestone for our Guard Program. BIG KUDOS to all the members and to their instructors!

Colorguard & Winterguard

The Concord Colorguard is the visual ensemble for the Spider Marching Band.  Members are selected through an audition process in the Spring prior to marching season, and they practice both with the Concord “Marching Spiders” and separately throughout the Summer & Fall.

The indoor Winterguard is chosen by audition in late fall and performs on the Carolina Winter Ensemble Association (CWEA) circuit from January-April.
