Two Concord Band Seniors Chosen for Charlotte Youth Wind Ensemble Joseph DeChristina (tuba) and Michael Swaenepoel (trumpet) have been selected for a pretigious area honor band, the Charlotte Youth Wind Ensemble! The Charlotte Youth Wind Ensemble, in it's 21st season, is known as the "Honor Band of the Carolinas." It is an audition-based group comprised of students from around the Charlotte metro area. This is Michael's third year of membership and Joseph's first year. After rehearsing once a week in January and February, the group will perform 3 concerts in the local area: on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 – 7:30 pm, UNC Charlotte, on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 – 7:30 pm, Hickory Ridge HS, Harrisburg (Cabarrus County), and on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 – 7:30 pm, Marvin Ridge HS, Waxhaw (Union County). Congratulations to Joseph AND Michael! We are all very proud of you!!
